The SWB National Executive Committee is extremely grateful to Specialised Therapeutics Australia (STA), a Melbourne-based biopharmaceutical company, for their recent $50,000 donation.
Announcing the donation, STA co-founders Carlo Montagner and Bozena Zembrzuski, expressed their support for SWB’s model of intensive, specialist-led teaching programs in developing countries.
“STA is committed to improving health outcomes not only for Australians but for people in more remote parts of the world who may not have access to the same facilities and top-level expertise we are lucky enough to enjoy. We hope this donation plays a part in SWB making real inroads in developing countries, with the ultimate goal that doctors in these areas are equipped to give high-class care to their own communities,” Ms Zembrzuski said.
SWB’s Chairman, Dr Paul Anderson, said that STA’s support will assist the organisation to achieve the goal of helping resource-poor communities to help themselves with improved medical care through high-class training.
“We are extremely pleased to accept this very generous donation from STA and look forward to a long association with the company. This kind of support will help us to further develop and continue to provide programs addressing areas of high need in terms of medical education in the third world,” Dr Anderson said.
